About Jackson Fish Camp Memorial Reef
Jackson Fish Camp Memorial Reef is an artificial reef in federal Gulf waters off Naples, Florida, where placed structure concentrates bottom fish and pelagics. Gag Grouper peak here from October through December, and Gray Snapper reach their best window from May through July. Red Snapper, Red Grouper, King Mackerel, and Greater Amberjack also hold around the reef. Bottom fishing is the dominant approach for grouper, with live pinfish, live grunts, live sardines, or cut bait dropped tight to the structure, while bucktail jigs, metal jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits work the same zone from above. For Gray Snapper, anglers fish live shrimp, live pilchards, squid, or cut bait on the bottom and use frozen chum blocks or cut sardines to draw fish up off the reef.
