About Marco Bay
Marco Bay is a protected inner bay near Naples, Florida, with a soft mud bottom and depths running 5 to 10 feet. Common Snook peak from April through July, overlapping with Tarpon from March through August and Gray Snapper from May through July. Red Drum peak in September and October, Sheepshead in January through March, and Spanish Mackerel run in March–April and again September through November. The sheltered mud bottom suits live bait fishing for snook and redfish with live pilchards, live pinfish, and live shrimp. Sheepshead and Gray Snapper respond to bottom fishing with live shrimp, fiddler crabs, and cut bait, while Spanish Mackerel take small spoons and jigs cast to feeding schools.
