About Munlin Creek
Munlin Creek is a protected, mud-bottomed bay creek near Naples, Florida, within the Southwest Region of Florida's Gulf state waters, with depths running from 0 to 10 feet. Sheepshead lead the cool-season action from January through March, overlapping with spotted seatrout from February through April, while common snook and tarpon carry the warm months from spring into summer. Gray snapper peak from May through July, red drum move in during September and October, and Spanish mackerel show in two windows, March through April and September through November. The sheltered inner water and soft mud bottom suit live bait fishing for snook and redfish with live shrimp, live pilchards, and pinfish, along with bottom fishing for sheepshead and gray snapper with live shrimp and fiddler crabs. Trout respond to soft plastic paddle tails on jigheads and popping corks with soft plastics worked through the shallows, and tarpon take live mullet and live crabs through their March-to-August run.
