About Spring Creek Channel
Spring Creek Channel is a protected mud-bottom corridor near Naples, Florida, running 10 to 20 feet deep through the inner waters of the Charlotte Harbor Region. Sheepshead lead the winter action from January through March, while spotted seatrout peak from February through April and common snook hold strong from April through July. Gray snapper take over from May through July, red drum peak in September and October, and Spanish mackerel move through in March and April and again from September through November. Bottom fishing with live shrimp, fiddler crabs, or sand fleas works the channel's soft mud bottom for sheepshead and gray snapper. For seatrout in the deeper sections, anglers bounce bucktail jigs or jigheads tipped with shrimp, and snook and red drum respond to live pilchards and pinfish worked along the corridor.
