About Chickasaw Tug Reef
Chickasaw Tug Reef is an artificial reef in the Gulf of Mexico off Panama City, Florida, within the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. As its name indicates, the site centers on a sunken tug, which adds hard vertical structure to an otherwise open stretch of Gulf bottom. Artificial reefs like this one gather baitfish and the predators that follow them, so anglers fish the wreck itself rather than the surrounding sand. No target species or seasonal peaks are on file for this reef yet, and depth data for the site is not currently recorded. The reef sits at 30.0821, -85.7794, a coordinate set that anglers use to locate the structure precisely before fishing it.
