About Dyers Point
Dyers Point is an outer, exposed drop-off off Panama City, Florida, where a sand bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet in the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. The spot draws Red Drum with a peak from August through October, Sheepshead from January through March, Gray Snapper from May through August, and Spanish Mackerel across a long March-to-October window, with Common Snook also on the target list. Along the edge of the drop-off, bottom fishing with live pinfish, live shrimp, cut sardines, or squid targets Gray Snapper, and Sheepshead respond to fiddler crabs, sand fleas, and oysters fished on the bottom. Red Drum take cut mullet, cut menhaden, and blue crab halves set on the sand. In the open water above the drop, trolling small spoons, feather jigs, and diving plugs covers ground for Spanish Mackerel through their extended season.
