About Fontainbleau Reef
Fontainbleau Reef is an artificial reef in the Gulf of Mexico off Panama City, Florida, within the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. The site sits at roughly 30.1685° N, 85.9087° W, placing it along the stretch of coastline west of St. Andrew Bay, where Bay County's network of deployed reef structure extends offshore. Like other artificial reefs in the region, it adds hard relief to an otherwise open, sandy Gulf bottom, giving fish a fixed point of structure. Anglers locate the reef by its coordinates, since the structure lies below the surface with no visible markers on the water. Its position in state waters puts it within practical range of Panama City's inlets and launch points for a short run offshore.
