About Japan FRP Tube Reef
Japan FRP Tube Reef is an artificial reef in the Florida Gulf State Waters off Panama City, within the Panhandle Region of the northeastern Gulf. The site takes its name from the fiberglass-reinforced plastic tubes that form its structure, set on the open sand bottom typical of this stretch of coast. Like other deployed reefs in the area, it adds vertical relief and hard surfaces to otherwise featureless seafloor, giving reef-associated fish a fixed point to hold around. The reef sits near 30.0402, -85.7898, placing it within reach of anglers running out from the Panama City area. No species records or depth data are currently on file for this spot, so the page will expand as catch reports and survey details come in.
