About Lands End
Lands End is an exposed rocky drop-off in the Gulf off Panama City, Florida, within the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters, where the bottom falls away across depths of 260 to 660 feet. Gray Snapper peak from May through August, Spanish Mackerel run from March through October, Red Drum peak from August through October, and Sheepshead take over from January through March, with Common Snook also on the target list. Bottom fishing along the rocky edge is the dominant approach for Gray Snapper and Sheepshead, using live pinfish, live shrimp, cut sardines, or squid for snapper and fiddler crabs, sand fleas, or oysters for sheepshead. Spanish Mackerel respond to trolling with small trolling spoons, planers with spoons, and feather jigs, while casting metal jigs and small spoons covers fish working higher in the water column. Red Drum hold to the rock structure and take cut mullet, cut menhaden, and blue crab halves fished on the bottom.
