About Loss Pontoon Reef
Loss Pontoon Reef is an artificial reef in the Gulf of Mexico off Panama City, Florida, within the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. The reef sits at 30.0823, -85.7232, a fixed position that anglers can enter directly into a GPS unit to locate the structure. As man-made habitat, the reef provides hard relief on the surrounding Gulf bottom and concentrates baitfish and the predators that follow them. No depth survey or species records are on file for this site, so a depth sounder reading on arrival gives the clearest picture of how the structure lies. Its place among the Panhandle's network of artificial reefs makes it a defined waypoint for anglers working the state waters near Panama City.
