About M.B. Miller County Pier
M.B. Miller County Pier is a public fishing pier in Panama City, Florida, extending into the Gulf waters of the Panhandle region. Sheepshead peak from January through March, when anglers bottom fish fiddler crabs, live shrimp, sand fleas, and oysters close to the pier pilings. Spanish Mackerel run from March through October and respond to metal jigs, gotcha plugs, and small spoons cast from the deck, while Gray Snapper peak from May through August and take live pinfish, live shrimp, cut sardines, and squid fished on the bottom. Red Drum build from August through October, when soft plastic jerkbaits, jigheads with paddle tails, and gold spoons cover water, and cut mullet or blue crab halves on the bottom draw bites from larger fish. Common Snook also appear on the pier's target list, rounding out a mix of structure-oriented and open-water species.
