About NRDA 8-A Reef

NRDA 8-A Reef is an artificial reef in the Gulf of Mexico off Panama City, Florida, within the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. The site sits at 30.0989, -85.9273, west of the St. Andrew Bay passes along the Bay County coastline. The reef carries the NRDA designation, which marks it as one of the restoration reefs placed along the Panhandle through Natural Resource Damage Assessment funding. Like other deployed structure on this stretch of sandy Gulf bottom, it offers hard relief on otherwise featureless seafloor, and that relief draws and holds marine life. Anglers working the Panama City reef network treat sites like this one as fixed waypoints, so precise positioning over the structure matters when arriving on the numbers.
