About Parker Bayou

Parker Bayou is a protected inner bay off Panama City, Florida, with a sand bottom and depths running 5 to 15 feet. Red Drum peak from August through October, and anglers target them with inshore casting using soft plastic jerkbaits, jigheads with paddle tails, gold spoons, and topwater plugs worked across the sandy flats. Sheepshead take over from January through March, when bottom fishing with fiddler crabs, live shrimp, and sand fleas produces steady action. Gray Snapper peak from May through August and respond to live pinfish and live shrimp fished on the bottom, while Spanish Mackerel run from March through October and fall to small trolling spoons and gotcha plugs. Common Snook round out the species list in the bayou's sheltered shallow water.
