About FWC-EE-8 Module Reef
FWC-EE-8 Module Reef is an artificial reef of placed modules in federal Gulf waters off Pensacola, Florida. The structure holds Red Grouper and Red Snapper, with Red Snapper peaking from April through August and Gray Snapper running strongest from May through August. Greater Amberjack crowd the modules in April and May, King Mackerel patrol the water above from April through October, and Gag Grouper peak from October through December. Bottom fishing with live pinfish, cigar minnows, squid, or cut bait works the base of the modules for snapper and grouper, while vertical jigging with metal jigs or bucktail jigs reaches fish holding tight to the structure. Slow trolling live cigar minnows, menhaden, or blue runners around the reef's edges targets King Mackerel, and live hardtails dropped over the modules draw Greater Amberjack.
