About Rabbit Rock

Rabbit Rock is an exposed outer-coast drop-off off Depoe Bay, Oregon, where a rocky bottom falls away through depths from 0 to 70 feet. The structure holds Black Rockfish, best from March through April and again from May into August, alongside Lingcod that peak February and March. Chinook Salmon run strongest May through September and Coho Salmon June through October, while Pacific Halibut move through from March into July. Anglers work the rock with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits for rockfish and lingcod, and drift herring, squid, or salmon bellies across the deeper edges for halibut. Salmon come to trolled cut-plug herring, whole herring, and flashers with hoochies along the drop-off's outer margin.
