About Siletz Reef Hump

Siletz Reef Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer, exposed grounds off Depoe Bay, Oregon, with depths ranging from 85 to 145 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut through their peak from March to August, while Lingcod fishing sharpens in February and March over the same rock. Chinook Salmon move through from May to September and Coho follow from June to September, with Sablefish, Pacific Cod, and aggregate Rockfish rounding out the mix. Anglers drift herring, salmon bellies, squid, or octopus for halibut across the pinnacle, and work metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or bucktail jigs tight to the rock for lingcod. Salmon are taken by trolling whole herring, anchovies, flashers, and spoons above the structure, with mooching cut-plug or whole herring a supporting option.
