Seasons managed/enforced based on port of landing.

Siletz Reef is a rocky pinnacle rising through 0 to 50 feet of water off Depoe Bay, Oregon, exposed to open ocean on the outer coast. The structure holds a mix of bottomfish and passing salmon, including Yelloweye Rockfish, Sablefish, Widow Rockfish, Canary Rockfish, and Pacific Cod, alongside seasonal targets that define the calendar here. Pacific Halibut peak from March through August and respond to drift fishing with herring, salmon bellies, squid, or octopus, while jigging with leadhead or metal jigs works the same broken bottom. Lingcod hold tight to the rock and peak in February and March, taken on metal and bucktail jigs, live greenling or rockfish, or drifted whole herring and cut bait. Chinook Salmon run through the area from May into September, most consistently on trolled whole herring, anchovies, flashers, and spoons, with cut-plug herring mooching as a slower alternative over the reef.
