McArthur Bank Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from an outer, exposed stretch of water off Port Townsend, Washington, in DFO subarea 7, with depths running from 120 to 265 feet. The structure draws Pacific Halibut, which peak from March through July, and Lingcod, which peak March through May over the same rock. Copper Rockfish hold on the pinnacle through summer, peaking June to September, while Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho Salmon peak June through September. Anglers work the deep rock with drift jigging using metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or herring for halibut, and jig metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs for lingcod holding tight to the structure. Salmon are taken by mooching cut-plug or whole herring for Chinook and trolling flashers, hoochies, spoons, or cut-plug herring for Coho across the exposed water above the hump.
