I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

SPOT PROFILE

STRUCTURE
Rock Outcrop

Browns Point Lighthouse Park Shoreline sits on a rock outcrop along the Tacoma waterfront in DFO subarea 11, offering shore and boat access to the salmon runs moving through the area. Chinook Salmon peak from June through September, followed by Coho from July through October, Pink Salmon from July through September, and Chum from September through December, giving anglers a rolling salmon season across much of the year. Trolling drives most of the salmon fishing here, with cut-plug herring, flashers, hoochies, and trolling spoons working the passing schools, while mooching cut-plug or whole herring and jigging metal jigs cover the same fish closer to structure. The rocky bottom also holds Lingcod, with a peak from March through June that responds to metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, and soft plastic swimbaits, along with live greenling or herring worked near the rock. Pacific Halibut show from March through August and take drift-jigged leadhead jigs tipped with swimbaits, herring, or squid over deeper ground.
